The third seed dug deep to defeat Caroline Dolehide, turning the match with trademark grit after a slow start. With the top 50 in his sights, Osorio looks at home on these courts as well.
Next up is qualifier Jazmin Ortenzi, who got past Irene Burillo to set up a South American clash. But it is difficult to ignore the circumstances of the situation, and more importantly, his family of Bogota. Osorio thrives here, and unless Ortenzi can produce something special, this definitely resonates with the Colombian racquet.

Emiliana Arango vs Guiomar Maristany Zuleta of Reales

Emiliana Arango finally has something to build on. After a poor start to the season, the Colombian burst into life with a comeback statement, demolishing Maria Lourdes Carle 1-6 6-2 6-0 to claim her second win of the year. However, its style suggests that it may turn away at the right time.
Next up is Guiomar Maristany Zuleta de Reales, who recently thrashed seventh seed Fran Jones 6-1 6-1. But despite that shocking result, the numbers depend heavily on Arango. Returning to familiar territory and facing a player with just two tour wins, Arango will see a real chance to win as well as keep that streak going.

Jessica Bouzas Maneiro vs Varvara Lepchenko

Jessica Bouzas Maneiro looked sharp, composed, and completely at home on clay, commanding a straight-set victory over Tiantsoa Sarah Rakotomanga Rajaonah to advance to the round of 16, her fourth win of the year, and a clash with Varvara Lepchenko for a place in the quarter-finals.
Lepchenko is coming into her own after snapping a long drought on the tour, battling Lia Karatancheva in three sets.
Both players are comfortable on clay, but Bouzas Maneiro’s high ceiling and strong CV in this position gives him the advantage. With ranking points and momentum on the line, the Spaniard has a real chance to push for the top spots in the coming weeks, and this is the type of game he will be looking to take.

Marie Bouzkova vs Hanne Vandewinkel

Marie Bouzkova wasted no time, pressing her power into the match, disposing of Ana Sofia Sanchez 6-2 6-0 in a brutal opening match. The top seed was unbroken, commanding from the start and giving a reminder of the level she brings as she is locked in a second-round clash with Hanne Vandewinkel.
The Belgian comes out strong, crushing Sofia Costoulas in three sets to win her 22nd victory of the season and extend her growing endurance reputation. But this is an important step up. The consistency of Bouzkova and her team should test that confidence to the limit, and if she maintains her opening momentum, she looks in good shape heading into Bogotá.
