Man Utd already have their first summer transfer in place with four more on the way

Manchester United are gearing up for a run at European football next season with some smart summer signings

Manchester United have completed the first deal to sign Cristian Orozcowith other arrivals targeted for the summer transfer window. United saw a change in 2026 from then Michael Carrick took the reins, securing seven wins out of 10 and only one defeat during his reign.

Impressive results against Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham have fueled calls for the former club captain to take the role permanently. However, with no official announcement yet to be made and the summer fast approaching, United have changed their mind about future signings.

Orozco is determined to step in as a heavily guarded player to improve academic standards. United have reached a temporary deal with the 17-year-old’s current Colombian club, Fortaleza CEIF, to secure his services.

However, the deal will not be completed until Orozco turns 18 and is eligible to move to Old Trafford.

A fee of around £750,000 ($1million) has been agreed, highlighting his ability to be a star of the future rather than an immediate replacement for departing players. Orozco is unlikely to be United’s only summer signing where the club are keen to bring in reinforcements for the first-team squad.

The Manchester Evening News have reported that United will target a left-back and are in the market for at least two central midfielders.

Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson has impressed of late, establishing himself as a key figure in Thomas Tuchel’s England set-up and attracting interest from United and City. Forest have reportedly slapped an £80m valuation on the 23-year-old, and he admits his main goal this summer is to represent his country.

Anderson said: “Obviously we’ve got the World Cup this summer, so all eyes are on that and playing in England. Obviously I’ve got the badge now, so that’s what I’m thinking about at the moment.”

Despite his struggles this season, the midfielder has received a lot of praise for his displays at the City Ground.

Along with Anderson, Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes are the two stars United have been linked with. With Casemiro leaving in the summer and Manuel Ugarte facing an uncertain future in Manchester, the club are looking for solid reinforcements in the middle of the park with Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.

Tonali’s contract at Newcastle is set to run until 2029, Chronicle Live suggests the club are at rest over his future at St James’ Park. However, chief executive David Hopkinson admitted the club will need to open for business this summer “on our terms” as they fight for a “higher price” for their star players.

The Italian ambassador, Giuseppe Riso, has strongly welcomed the possibility of future migration. United are among a number of clubs showing an interest in Tonali and have also been linked with the 25-year-old’s teammate Guimaraes.

Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly is reportedly another player on United’s summer wishlist, according to Sky Sports News. The full-back has made a strong impression since his debut in north London and could be seen as the young successor to veteran Luke Shaw.

The 19-year-old penned a new five-year deal last season, but has since left Arsenal. Loanee Piero Hincapie has emerged as first choice this season, while Riccardo Calafiori has also been chosen over the youngster.

With a number of interesting potential transfers, United have a tough job ahead of them as they look to secure more signings to lure a new manager to the hot seat at Old Trafford.
