Carlos Alcaraz v Jannik Sinner start time and how to watch Monte Carlo Masters final

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will meet for the first time in 2026 this afternoon at the Monte Carlo Masters final with not only the title but also the 1st place in the world.

Moetsalibe is enjoying brilliant recent form – becoming the first man since Novak Djokovic to reach the first three Masters 1000 finals in a season, having lifted the trophy in India Wells and Miami. He is on pace to win 21 matches in the Masters 1000 ranking and if that reaches 22 this afternoon, he will leapfrog Alcaraz as world No. 1.

The Spaniard has not struggled well this season himself – winning the first tournament of the year, the Australian Open, as well as the Qatar Open – and ended the run of his favorite Valentin Vacherot 6-4 6-4 in the semi-finals to set up this clash. Meanwhile Sinner dominated third seed Alexander Zverev 6-1 6-4 without facing a single break point.

Alcaraz leads Moetsalibe 10-6 in their contest, which will define this season in men’s tennis, although it was the Italian who won their last match in straight sets at the ATP Finals back in November.

Here’s everything you need to know about conflicts:

When is Carlos Alcaraz v Jannik Sinner?

The men’s final match of the Monte Carlo Masters between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner should begin with 2pm BST (UK time) on Sunday, April 12. It follows the second men’s match, which starts three hours earlier, so there is little chance that the clash could be delayed if the match lasts longer.

How can I watch?

The game will be broadcast on Sky Sports, and coverage will begin Sky Sports Tennis at 2pm BST and Sky Sports + joining the action from 2.30pm BST, following the conclusion of Birmingham City v Wrexham in the Championship.

Fans can subscribe to Sky, or use NOW with a day or month pass.

Alcaraz v Sinner head to head

Alcaraz leads the head-to-head between the players 10-6, although Moetsalibe claimed a 7-6 7-5 victory in their last meeting at the ATP Finals last November. Last year, Alcaraz beat Sinner in the US Open and French Open finals but the Italian came out on top in four sets at Wimbledon.

They met for the first time in 2021, when Alcaraz was the winner 7-6 7-5 in the last 32 of the Paris Masters, although the sinner took revenge in their second meeting at Wimbledon the following summer.

What did Alcaraz and Sinner say?

Alcaraz is excited to face his fierce opponent for the first time this season, especially when it comes to the finals.

“I think it’s a dream place for everyone I can say,” explained the Spaniard. “I’m fighting for a second victory in Monte Carlo, he’s fighting for his first, first on the line, which will make tomorrow special.

“I am happy to win a very difficult match against Valentin. He is playing good tennis with a lot of confidence now, playing in his hometown. It was difficult to win, but I am very happy about my first meeting with Jannik in 2026.”

Meanwhile, Sinner reflected on Zverev’s impressive victory in the semi-finals, reducing his opponent’s chances and making a statement on clay.

“I am very happy,” said Moetasibet. “We came here to try to give an opinion [on clay] and now to find myself in the final means a lot to me.

“When you split immediately, it changes the dynamic of the game. I have nothing to lose. To come here and make the final means a lot to me, so I will try to push as hard as I can tomorrow on the final day.”
